Thomas Jefferson Brown
from Una Bowman
Ada Waltenbaugh letter to Mrs Twilla Boughman, dated 31 Dec 1937, Canton, Ohio -
"My sister-in-law tells me that Moses had a brother who, too, married a Hercules and lived along Ohio river, she thinks Bellaire. They were wealthy. Mother W. used to tell about her. Used to tell of old saying if two sisters married brothers, one would be very poor. Grannie remembered of this aunt's visit. Her mother punished her and the aunt came to her rescue."
- Una got the information about Thomas's children from Vance Brown and Sue Hadden; it seems to contradict what this letter says. The mother-in-law mentioned is Moses II's daughter Margaret, who married Lewis Waltenbaugh; her son Charles married Ada. The brother must be Thomas, but if the children's birthplaces are correct, he did not live in Ohio, unless he was there for a spell between 1836-40.
