Hans Sigmund -> Valentine
Researchers seem to agree that Valentine was the son of Hans Sigmund. I haven’t found out much about him. He doesn’t seem to have left much (I haven't found any) documentary information in Pennsylvania, and he seems to have gone to North Carolina. In 1790 he is there, in Rowan County, with his nephews Melchior, George, and Henry (sons of his brother Melchior) and possibly his brother Andreas.

On Nov. 5, 1793 in Inferior Court [Rowan County, North Carolina, the Administration of the Estate of Valentine Derr Deceased was granted to Jacob Brougher and Frederick Fisher Jr. who qualified and gave bond with Jacob Haddinger security in the sum of 700 lbs. Frederick Fisher was the brother-in-law of Jacob Brougher. He married Susannah (Dierr) Brougher's sister, Barbara, on Jan. 30, 1793 in Rowan County. On Dec. 11, 1795 Jacob Browher and Susannah his wife and Frederick Fisher and Barberry his wife - heirs of Valentine Tarr of Rowan Co. "From him to his daughters the only surviving heirs" sold 370 acres on Dutch Second Creek to Nicholas Linebarrier for 400 lbs. The women had beautiful German handwriting, and the men had English handwriting. ...On Nov. 10 1756 Valentine Durr arrived in Philadelphia on the ship snow Chance, at least sixteen years old. ... Valentine was a member of the Second Creek Lutheran congregation, obviously, being [buried] in the old Pine church graveyard, and having a daughter confirmed in the Second Creek Congregation on Easter Sunday in 1782 (Maria Susannah Duerr Brougher).
Burial per the North Carolina Genealogical Society Journal, Volume Ii, No. 1 January 1976?, Page 86, in an Article titled "The Account Book of Pastor [Carl August] Storch," by Ute-ingrid Seidler, it is indicated that "Durr (D U Umlaut R R), Valentin, Buried 23 September 1793" it is stated that the material was entered in 18th Century German script., which previously limited access to his account book in which were entered all income received by Pastor Storch for his services. It is also indicated that "Durr [D U Umlaut R R], Ge [Georg?], buried 15 February 1795" on Page 30 of the Source, it is indicated that Durr [D U Umlaut R R], Christ. And Durr [D U Umlaut R R], Jacob were confirmed at the Buffalo Creek Church in 1796. (I think the other Durrs mentioned might be Valentine's nephew George and his sons???)
