Obituary
Mrs. Mary A. Deweese died at her home in Boonville, on Wednesday, June 17, 1896. Funeral services were held at the Main Street M.E. Church, at nine o'clock a.m. Friday, June 19, 1896, Rev. R. R. Bryan officiating. Interment at Mt. Gilead cemetery.
The deceased was born near Boonville on May 15, 1831. Her maiden name was Mary A. Armer. She was first married to William Sharp, after his death, she married Absalom Deweese, who departed this life on June 9, 1875.
Mother Deweese has resided in Boonville and vicinity all her life.
She joined the M.E. church when a young girl and remained a faithful member until death. She was a good neighbor, a kind and affectionate mother.
She left surviving her four daughters as follows: Mrs. Sarah Fay and Phoeba Deweese of Boonville; Mrs. Sina Lopp of Owensboro, Ky., and Mrs. Alice Ray of English, Indiana.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends and acquaintances in their loss of a good and kind mother. [poem]

Mrs. Mary A. Deweese, of this place, died Wednesday after a long illness. The deceased was 65 years of age. The funeral services were held today at 9 a.m. at the M.E. church, Rev. Bran officiating. The funeral took place at Mt. Gilead cemetery. The bereaved family has the sympathy of many friends.

Isaac Deweese was born March 25, 1820 in Cumberland county Ky., and died at his home northwest of Boonville April 27, 1905, after an illness extending over several months. He bore his sufferings with great fortitude and when death relieved him of his earthly sufferings he was righteously prepared to meet his Heavenly Father, for he had led an honest, upright and charitable life.
Mr. Deweese was married to Miss Louisa Sams July 4, 1849. She died March 23, 1878, and on April 27, 1879, he was married to Miss Ann Smith.
He leaves a wife, two brothers, six children 25 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, besides other relatives and many friends.
The funeral services were conducted at the residence at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon by Rev. D. V. Ketcham. Interment at Cross Road cemetery.

Eli Smith Deweese was born December 28, 1851, in Davies county, Kentucky, the son of William and Eliza Deweese, the eldest of a family of thirteen children, and passed away Friday evening, July 6, 1934, age 82 years, 6 month and 8 days.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Brammer November 21, 1877. To this union were born three children, namely, Lon, Eva and Arthur.
In his early youth he was converted and joined the Methodist church, and has been a member of Old Fletcher and the new Fletcher Chapel in Warrick county for 57 years.
Uncle Smith, as he was known in the community, was beloved by all that knew him, his consistent christian life and hospitality having won for him many friends.
The large crowd which attended his funeral testified to the large place he had won in the hearts of the people.
He was a member of the W. O. W. lodge, Camp No. 77 at Stanley, Ind., belonging there for hirty years, and as long as he was able to go was a faithful attendant at every meeting.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Wm. Skelton of Hazelton, Ind., assisted by Rev. Tullis of DeGonia, Rev. Stepro of Chrisney, Rev. Kitt and Rev. Levi Ketcham of Boonville. Mrs Ova Pruitt and Mrs. Elma Meinert sang two beatutiful songs, "When They Ring the Golden Bells for You and Me," and "There's No Disappointment in Heaven," with Miss Ruth Simpson of Boonville at the piano.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Lon of Evansville and Arthur of Boonville; one daughter Mrs. Eva Grimwood of Elberfeld; six beloved grandchildren, Charles and Bessie Grimwood, and Eva, Doris, Lila Lee and Hazel Deweese; one great-grandchild, Irvin Grimwood; five sisters, Mrs. Pine Baker, Mrs. Agnes Clark, and Mrs. Mary Carter, all of Boonville, Mrs. Amelia Miller of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Bogan of Wesley Chapel; three brothers, Isaac and William of Boonville, and John of Evansville.
He was laid to rest in Barnett's Chapel cemetery Sunday, July 8, 1934.
