John has only a "probable" connection to the Owens in Hook's article - and Hook does not have very full notes on him - only one "probable" child.

[Of course, I have no documentation for any of them - I am taking other researchers' words for all of this.] [Oops - other researchers give him a date of ~1666, in which case he could have been born in Bristol.]

. . . probably the John Owen of Southold, LI, who died there 7 Jan 1737. John was named in the Owen family account (see George) as brother of Edwin (Even), Moses and Jonathan. His name does not appear in the Brookhaven records, but he does appear among the enlisted men in Capt George Bradshaw's Suffolk County Company, 17 June 1692 [Report of the State Historian, Colonial Series, 1:418].
