      1675 - born before 1675, probably in Virginia
      16xx - joined his father in Massachusetts
      17xx - married Susanna Beale before 1715
     These first 4 children may or may not have been children of Susanna Beale Pattee

      1715 July 31 - Susanna received into communion at the Haverhill First Parish
      1715 - sometime - some "ch. of Richard Pate" baptized
      1716 - his father sold him the Patee Farm and Ferry
             In 1720, he was released from the debt remaining, in return for Richard paying out the bequests in Peter's will.

            1728/9 Feb 28 - deeded 60 acres of this parcel to son Peter as his share in the estate
            1741 Sept 14 - sold 90 acres of this to his son Richard jr.
      1726 July 19 - licensed as an innholder for the year
      1727 July - licensed as an innholder and retailer
      1729 April 8 - sold the Patee Farm and Ferry to Nathaniel Peaslee
      1729 June 18 - bought 50 acres from Nathaniel Peaslee & wife Lydia
            1729/30 Jan 16 - deeded this property to son Seth as his share in the estate
      1729 Sept 5 - Susanna suspended from communion
            she accused a neighbor (Lydia Peaslee) of being drunk, and was required to make a public  acknowledgement of her own faults - instead she wrote a paper justifying herself - she eventually gave in, and was restored to communion in 1731 (June 4)
      1741/2 - died - sometime between 14 Sept 1741 (when he sold a bit of land to Richard jr) and 8 Jan 1741/2 (when his estate was inventoried)
      1741/2 Jan 8 - inventory of his estate taken
      1743 May 9 - wife Susanna died after this date

      not mentioned in father's will -> probably died before 1722
          also no children of his are mentioned, so presumably he died without issue

        helped operate father's ferry
      1709 - received permission (with 7 others) to build a pew in the meeting house

      1722 - "The warning out of Daniel Rolfe and family by the town of Bradford was allowed by the county court at Salem 25 Dec 1722" (Scalisi-Ryan article) - I don't know exactly what that means, but it doesn't sound good.
      1725/6 Feb 14 - received 5s from father's will - living at Bradford at that time
      1732/3 living at the "Plantation of Pennycook" (later Concord, NH)
