1664 - ~1727
Rhode Island, Massachusetts
There isn't a lot of information about him in The Slocum book -
most of the pages devoted to him contain his very long will
1664 Oct 24 born - Portsmouth Twp, (now Newport Co), RI - son of Giles Slocum and Joan Unknown.
1684 or before - became resident of Dartmouth Twp, New Plymouth
16xx - m Elephel Fitzgerald
resided in Dartmouth as a yeoman "He dealt quite extensively in lands, and was very successful in the accumulation of property . . ." (The Slocum book p. 56)
1689 April 28 - daughter Meribah born
1691 Aug 22 - daughter Mary born
1693/4 Jan 20 - son Eliezer born
1694 Nov 13 - confirmatory deed by Gov Wm Bradford -> Eliezar, brothers Giles & Peleg were named proprietors of Dartmouth (then included present day Dartmouth, New Bedford, Westport, Fairhaven)
I am not sure what this means - I need to know more about the political structure in early New England. As Quakers the Slocums were prohibited from holding office - so maybe proprietor just means propery-owner???
1696/7 Jan 20 - son John born
1699 Dec 13 - son Benjamin born
1702 July 15 - daughter Joanna born
~1705 - son Ebenezer born
1727 July 30 - will proved - estate £5,790 - exclusive of former gifts to children
(Elephel also left a considerable estate - will proved 4 Oct 1748)
Will included in The Slocum book - 57-60 - these are the main points
Eliezer Slocum of Dartmouth, Bristol, Colony of Massachusetts Bay

The Slocum book says the original will is still preserved in the probate office at Taunton, Bristol, MA - but that was in 1882.
