According to Mike Taylor, there were two Davids in Augusta County (in Chalkley’s Chronicles)-
I. The elder David was the probable brother of John, William, Thomas and Robert. He married Annos, and in about 1764 they moved to South Carolina, where David wrote his will in 1790

Cathey’s River is on the map, in Beverly Manor; Walker’s Creek (not Run) is on the map, further south in Borden’s Grant - so once again, I am not sure where this is, exactly. I am thinking maybe Walker’s Run was different? Or maybe Cathey’s River extended further south than it looks on the map? At any rate, a Lusk had some property right between the two.

II. The younger David was the one who was a major. He was the nephew of the first David (son of David I’s probable brother William and wife Sarah) and married Mary Davis.
He seems to have been a very respected man - he is Major Stevenson in his wife’s will, and he is sheriff for several years, and he is testator or executor for many people’s wills.
David’s will left everything to Mary; Mary’s will divided the estate between her family and his - so apparently they had no (surviving) children.
Mary’s will freed their slaves, so they had been slave-owners.
According to Mary’s will (written 1816), David’s brothers were Adam, James and William (all deceased at the time the will was written); he also had a sister Elizabeth Herring (who apparently was married before because her son was Robert Shanklin - unless this was a different sister with no other heirs). [For the record, Mary’s brothers were James, Walter and Robert Davis; her sisters Catherine Gordon and Mrs Ruth Davis.]
